Monitoring and Maintenance Intensified to Anticipate Fallen Tree

Jakarta City Park and Forestry keeps intensifying the tree monitoring and maintenance ahead of rainy season this year.

Resident safety is our top priority

The agency has been pruning 62,161 trees in various green open spaces in five city administration since January 2025. Pruning is focused on green belts, road edges, road medians, and other public areas to minimize the risk of trees falling.

Tree health checks are also conducted regularly. 5,722 trees have been inspected for health, including root health, trunk condition, slope, and crown width. These checks aim to ensure tree health remains safe, particularly in greenbelts and along busy roads.

City Govt Expresses Condolences and Urges Residents to Be Vigilant During Rainy Season

Head of Jakarta Environment Agency, said tree pruning and health checks in Jakarta are routinely carried out as a precautionary measure against potential fallen trees that could endanger road users.

"Jakarta Provincial Government also appeals residents to increase awareness of fallen trees during rainy season especially in areas with lots of trees, green belts, and roadsides. Heavy rainfall accompanied by strong winds can increase the risk of trees falling," he said, Monday (10/27).

Fajar added that the agency prepares fallen tree handling post in district, city, and province levels. Personnel are also standby tp handle the fallen tree incident.

Anyone who sees fallen trees can immediately report it to the Agency Post on Jalan Aipda KS Tubun, Central Jakarta, or contact the officer, Mr. Suriadih (0857-7388-5599). Reports can also be submitted through the Jakarta Siaga 112 service or the JAKI app.

"Resident safety is our top priority. Let's all increase our vigilance, especially during extreme weather," he appealed.
